Hi everyone,

My lil guy will turn 2 on the 9th and just this last week he has had problems with going potty in the house and its more like he acting out. Now he has never gone in his kennel and 3 nights this week he has both 1 and 2, and one night the week before I feel asleep and didnt put him in his kennel and he pooped on the floor. Then to top it off he peeded on my comforter and while washing that I pulled out a extra one and he peeped on that too. Now for quite awhile I havent any problems with him and the only thing that is different is we changed his food but nothing new has been going on for him to be acting out I dont understand.

Any help I would greatly appreciate!

Have you ruled out any medical issues? Is anything different in your household like a different schedule, new pets, visitors, neighbors get a new dog, etc.?

is he gettting the same amount of attention??? this could be a cry for attention of any form. another thing--is he being left alone more than usual? could be a sign of separation anxiety. my boy did this also when he was free as could be to mark anywhere he wanted outside...once i changed that, he changed his behavior inside....otherwise may want to look into bladder control with your vet....but first see if anything (really, anything) has changed with his daily life because they are such a stubbborn dog and he could just be acting out to get back at you !!

The first thing to check is medical, dogs will change their potty habits when they are ill after you rule that out call a trainer for some advice before it gets too far out of hand, training might be the ticket.  He is coming into maturity about now.  Good Luck.

I don't have any new advice than what's already been said, just want to wish you the best of luck and hang in there, he's trying to tell you something, just using a very indiscreet way to say it.

Good luck with him and be sure to let us all know any progress
