Bubba started obediance school two weks ago at petsmart. He is doing very. His main issue in the class is that he is male dog aggressive. His whole life he has only been exposed to Maggie. He goes nuts when an intact male enters the training area. But on his second week in school,he was able to sit and stay and listen to us and ignore the other males when told to do so.He is making us very proud, and the instructor is impressed at his progress. It is an 8 week course and only cost $109. We can hardly wait to see how he does at the end of the school. Also if we don't like his progress after 8 weeks,we can start him over and do the 8 weeks again for free

What a smart boy Bubba is!  Kiss That's great progress in only two weeks  Smiley Spike couldn't do that with males or females on the last day of his 8 week Difficult Dog class (he was a "mercy graduate"  Roll Eyes)

Well Bubba is three years old. The instructor said it is never too late to begin training, it just gets a little more difficult the longer you wait.
Bubba has done so well in his training that the instructor has invited him to attend his last two classes in the next group above him, the intermediate group. Since he has been in school he has become so much more loveable than before. He is constantly getting in my lap, which he has never done before, and he listens to almost everything we tell him

We just got home from Bubba's training. We could not be more proud of him. The instructor was soooo pleased at how much he had changed since his first class. She said he was the smartest Bulldog she has ever taught. So tonight I think I will make Bubba something special for his reward, maybe some baked chicken, one of his favorites Grin Grin

That is so cool......... I am a trainer at Petco and do one on one training with people in their homes and I get so excited when a Bulldog is in class.  Bulldogs are so motivated and they are fast learners. People think they are just big goofy dogs, which they are but that doesn't make them stupid or unteachable.  Its you as the owner that should be commended also, the trainer can only do so much, its really the owners that do most of the work.  Without commitment from you Bubba wouldn't be learning.

My dog (Who lives with my daughter now) Jiggs will sit, down, sit stay, down stay, shake left, shake right, speak, wave, roll over and mark a spot with his paw.  A friend of mine who had a litter of pups a few months ago is going to set up a class with me and the pups from that litter, now that is going to be SO exciting.

Keep up the good work Bubba, you ARE a shining star.

Congrats Graduate!  I love hearing that a bulldog is one of the best in his class.
