Purchasing a bulldog over the internet is risky business.  There are many bad people willing to take advantage of you.  It can be done properly without getting ripped off but you need to do research and be thoroughly prepared.  I found my own bulldog online and was happy with the process.

I would like to create this thread to keep others informed about potential risks.

We need to walk a fine line between warning of a scam and accusing someone.

To start things off I am adding a link to complaints about a breeder known as Mybullz
http://www.freewebs.com/mybullztruth/index.htm

The link leads to a group that has taken a stand against her and they are actively collecting information from people who may have been victimized.

I know the following is true:
-The Mybullz webpage used to advertise the 100 year Italian bloodline
-The Mybullz webpage is currently offline

And finally another site purporting to operate under the Mybullz name has sprung up and is offering puppies.  The new site also happens to have a copy of the Goliath banner.

Please do all your background research before committing to anything.

I just saw the new website, and I'm fairly certain that I recognize some of the puppies that she has listed...  I'm going to ask some questions, and I'll report my findings.

I did see the new banner... It's clearly Goliath with his Valentines and roses.  It even still says THE bulldog place under it.. OMG Shocked Shocked Angry

I'm glad you joined.  Clearly the banner issue is minor compared to the other concerns that  are linked with the owner of mybullz, but hopefully my actions to protect Bulldog Domain's copyright will help to at least put the actions of mybullz under scrutiny.

As a reminder, to those participating in this thread, please avoid posting any actual links to the offending site(s) - yes there are  more than one owned by this person - as I don't want to assist their search rankings and web credibility in any way.  Links to the mybullztruth pages are okay of course. Thanks.

I noticed the site with Goliath's banner is still posting ads on Terrificpets.  Shamefull....
Since sites are not allowed to be posted, I was wondering if it email addresses of scammers can be posted? I have several right now.

As far as mybullz goes, I did contact "Myra" at one point during my search for a puppy.  I had asked her some questions and then thoroughly looked through the site and realized that there was something fishy about it. She was also very rude with her emails. I ended my discussions with her and I'm glad I did.

Email addresses are fine, in fact, posting them here will likely result in spam for them Grin  Can you (and anyone else who has them) PM the URL for any websites, terrificpets ads, etc that you find using our logo, photos or content?  I've got some work to do.  Smiley

Here are a few email addy's of scammers that I've ventured upon in the past.  I'll continue to post more... I hate these people so much, exploiting puppies to steal money from people.

Here's what I have so far:

shawnwillpuppies@yahoo.com
goldenbullies@inbox.com
conellybullies@yahoo.com
mybullz@aol.com (The ever popular "Myra")
bulliespups1234@yahoo.com
beautypup@ommail.com
akcpuppyarena@yahoo.com

All but the last one I have personally contacted.  Some just because I knew they were scammers and had no intentions of buying from them, just like to get them going and it gives me a reason to swear through email.  It's a great stress reliever.  I'll post more later.

I think this one is probably a scam too. My friend answered the add and he wants $500 for shipping from Africa.

Definately a scam.  Any ads with shipping from Africa are scams.  There's no reason to get a bulldog from Africa anyways, there are plenty of great breeders in the US and Canada.

A friend I know (who is a simple girl from Maine) e-mailed me asking if the same thing was a scam..   She's a sweet thing who lost her bullie in his neuter surgery.... I felt so badly telling her not to do it.

It's a shame that these people prey on those who just don't understand.

FYI you are discussing a version of the "Nigerian Puppy Scam"

Common elements to the scam
-Someone has to give up their puppy
-This person is usually a sympathetic figure like a Priest or religious person serving on a foreign mission/Peace corps volunteer/Someone in the military (they specifically target religious and charitable people)
-They don't want money...only shipping costs (yeah right)
-Once you send money the games begin and no puppy will arrive

If you google that you will find many many stories on the subject
Here is an ABC news story

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=7on_your_side&id=5249169

"we went online looking for a free toy dog and found a Yorkie right away on Craigslist. The owner said he was from Hayesville, North Carolina and a Peace Corps volunteer, but he misspelled "corps." Stationed at Cameroon, the climate is too hot for the dog. There is no adoption fee, just pay for shipping. So we responded with an e-mail.

"Sounds good, what do I do next?" we wrote. He writes back with his telephone number and we call Cameroon.

Federal regulations don't allow us to play his side of the conversation, but here's what transpired.

We ask, "are these the actual pictures of the dog?" He replies, "Exactly! Those are the present of the puppy." Odd wording for a southerner and his accent wasn't familiar.

We ask, "you're from North Carolina?" He says, "exactly." We ask again, "so that's the accent I'm hearing, is a North Carolina accent?" His response, "please I can't hear you, please the lines not good."

At first he says shipping will cost $480 dollars, but drops it to $280 dollars. Over the course of a week of e-mails we talk him down to $200 dollars, then $150 dollars and finally $100 dollars to ship a dog from Africa to San Francisco. We send him nothing."

Just caught this person trying to scam.  He goes by Brian Molers.  His email address is smartpets231@yahoo.ca and his phone number is 647-836-8395.  He is posting an ad on Terrificpets saying he has two bulldogs for $900 and $950 in Toronto.  I asked him for additional photos.  He sent me some.  I did a search on google for bulldog puppy pics and came across one of the photos he sent except it was for Brenglora Bulldogs.

I'm not sure if anyone in here is affiliated with Brenglora.

Anyways, stay away from him.

This is why it is so important to only buy bullies from BCA recommended breeders. Then people would not have these problems.  Smiley
